Fertiglobe

Introduction
Fertiglobe is a leading global producer and distributor of nitrogen fertilizers and ammonia, headquartered in Abu Dhabi. As a joint venture between ADNOC and OCI N.V., Fertiglobe combines world-class production capabilities with a strategic focus on sustainability and innovation. With a diverse, geographically integrated portfolio of production assets across the Middle East and North Africa, Fertiglobe serves farmers and industries worldwide, supporting global food security and sustainable agricultural practices.
The Challenge
Sustainability begins with understanding, and intelligent analytics provide that clarity. By harnessing the power of Big Data, companies can now gain unprecedented insight into their supply chain operations. Advanced software platforms dissect every stage of the supply chain, revealing the carbon footprint embedded in each process. This level of transparency is the cornerstone upon which sustainable strategies are built.
The first step towards a sustainable supply chain is understanding its environmental impact. Intelligent analytics serve as the lantern in the darkness, illuminating the once-hidden corners of supply chain operations:
Comprehensive carbon footprint mapping
Energy consumption analysis
Waste generation and diversion metrics
With such detailed insights, businesses can craft strategies that target the most impactful areas for improvement.
Partner Approach
To support Fertiglobe in elevating its procurement performance and aligning with broader group strategy goals, a multi-faceted, hands-on approach was implemented across three core areas:
1. Establishment of a Value Office & Strategic Planning
A structured six-month initiatives roadmap was developed to guide procurement transformation efforts. This included setting up a robust value office function with clear governance, aligning stakeholders across the organisation, and embedding recurring strategic meetings with OPCO procurement leads to drive accountability and execution.
2. Operational Improvement & Opportunity Identification
The approach involved enhancing internal tools such as the savings tracking file and SharePoint systems, improving data visibility and collaboration. Key procurement activities—including CAPEX planning, PR analysis, and tender/spot buy recommendations—were reviewed to identify efficiencies and unlock cross-OPCO synergies, particularly within the chemicals category.
3. Commercial and Vendor Management
Led group-level commercial engagements by managing Master Service Agreement (MSA) negotiations with major vendors. These discussions aimed to optimise terms, standardise contracts, and build scalable frameworks for future vendor relationships.
This comprehensive methodology enabled Fertiglobe to gain greater control over procurement activities, realise value across entities, and lay the groundwork for sustained commercial excellence.
